Yeah I know, I fell back to the blue lightsaber =P

I'll write more details later, right now I'm extremeally busy combining work and studies :doh:

Thinking about the lightsabers? The lightsabers are photoshop-made, but the light from the ligtsabers is made in poser. I simply use point-lights at the spots where the sabers are located :)

Another funny story. Sith used red crystal originally because that was all they could get their hands on at the time. But became a standard because, in spite of being power guzzlers and not creating as fine a beam (conjecture the guide said they were low quality crystals), they do VERY VERY rarely cause other crystals to break when used.

This single minded Lightsaber vs. Lightsaber design style of course was simply not diverse enough for the jedi to adopt.

From somewhere I actually knew some of that I think, but its always very interesting to hear :D

I think Sith later found a way to create more powerful and finer crystals through mashinery and influencing the crystals through the force during the progress, wich is why the lightsaber-crystals of Sith are quite personal belongings. The Jedi on the other hand use natural crystal. I know Jedi's like Adi Gallia and Eeth Koth used red lightsabers at some point... That would propably be natural crystals?

Darth Mauls crystals were masterfully made and gave a powerful, pure red beam I believe I've read somewhere.
