For instance, 'the double ended light saber is not a jedi style weapon because it's only real purpose is to enable more killing moves.'
Sorry I keep going on and on about that, but it's a prick in my mind whenever I see it that won't leave me alone.

I also used to believe that the double-bladet lightsaber was a more "aggressive" lightsaber, not fitting for a jedi. That is correct, but there are several points to consider there. The Jedi, (before episode 1) were very keen on following tradition, like using the same jedi robes, similar lightsaber-styles, and padawans creating lightsabers looking similar as the ones of their masters, all propably to symbolise that they are all but parts of the order, and won't try to stand out from the others. But then there were jedis who decidet to use a more personal style, jedi's like for example Jastus Farr, Adi Gallia, A'Sharad Hett, Anakin Skywalker, Dooku (when he was a jedi). Adi Gallia, used a very special lightsaber-combat style (and a red lightsaber, later blue), A'Sharad used two red lightsabers (later green), Anakin used jedi-robes and a lightsaber-design different from Obi Wan's, breaking with tradition. Dooku used the special curved lightsaber, no doubt known to be best as a aggressive form of single-bladet lightsaber, and Jastus Farr is one of the Jedis who specialised in the form of wielding double-bladet lightsabers (wielding a green double blade lightsaber) [link] [link]
But indeed, double bladet lightsabers are one heck to deflect with, even when dueling. It would take a massive amount of skill to use one effectively. I thought Krystal would feel familiar enough with it because of her using a staff as a main weapon. Besides, as I wanted to put her "jedi timeline" in the time around episode 4-6, when the Jedi are more or less extinct, knowing what the proper Jedi code would be isn't easy
I thought Krystal could have been trained in the Jedi ways by master Voolvif Monn, temporarily survivor of the purge, who is known to have a little agressive fighting-style. The time is around or before episode 4, so she doesn't get much training before he gets hunted down by Vader. Krystal had left Lylat to search for the truth about the destruction of her homeworld, since she had gotten tips about that the Empire maby stood behind it (part of the death star research program?) Hm. Short about the story.
Whoh, that was long

"Yes, you just -happened- to belong to a race that was 99.9% identical to Fox's, you just happened to figure out the language quickly that it took him a computer to learn. And you also just happened to be compatible with the Kazowa spirits. Your world is destroyed, thus no ability to trace your life before coming to dinosaur planet. You just happened to fight with a magic staff on a world that had yet to develop tech in spite of being a space farer yourself. And of course, it just happened to fall into Fox's hands, the only one on the planet not fully intimidated by General Scale's army. You just happened to respond to a 'distress' call that Fox also did... from a world that wasn't known for being high tech... "
Kystal always struck me as more likely having been created by the Kozowa and given faux memories to be Fox's alley during Dinosaur Planet and failing that, his inspiration to collect the kazowa spirits to enable the planet's complete rebuilding (the spell stones on their own weren't enough to pull the planet back together).
Heh! I thought there was something strange about the story, but never thought about it like that, although the whole "emergency message-thing" from a dinosaur-sivilisation struck me... It wasn't andross who sendt a false message to attract some attention from some more... intelligent beeings?
And... how could Krystal be the lone survivor of a planet destruction? Some sort of Superman-parody? It would suggest that the cerinians were technically advanced enough that she could have been off-planet.. which in my opinion would suggests that she isn't the only survivor. Alltogether there are many factors in StarFox that don't really match together, including several genetical factors
Created by the kazowa spirits? Indeed a interesting theory...
